Properties box windowing bug is back .... 13 years later :O

Robert WrightNov 5 2024

My description is similar to this - Properties box windowing bug - Oracle Forums - except I could get some Properties but not the one I wanted - for Entity.

When I read the post I thought “if the window is open somewhere else” then using <alt><space> should maybe possibly open up the window menu and let me move the hidden screen to a visible screen.

After selecting an Entity and choosing Properties I then selected <alt><space> and the window menu opened on my laptop screen and I selected move. I then hit the <left> ← button and kept it down for a while and, hey-presto, the window eventually appeared on my laptop screen. I can now view the properties of the Entities.

Your ENTRA users will get authenticated via JSON Web Tokens, and their Entra roles will determine which ORDS REST APIs they can hit.

When they hit an endpoint, it'll execute code in the database as the database user that owns the schema where the REST API is defined, not as Entra defiend end user. In fact, the Entra users won't have accounts in the database (they could, but wont' need to).

The :current_user field as far as ords is concerned would be the corresponding oauth2 client or JWT issued for the authorizied session.

Your prehook should be able to alter the session to set the context that would put your RLS/VPD security policy in play.
