Xsun CPU utilization

We recently acquired an Ultra 25 as a replacement for our SunBlade 1500. We run a custom application that requires Directcolor mode and Solaris 9. We noticed in comparison testing that the Xsun process on the Ultra 25 runs with nearly double the CPU utilization as the SunBlade 1500.

Xsun on the SunBlade with our app running runs at about 15% CPU utilization, the Ultra 25 runs at nearly 30%
Anybody know what caused Xsun to have such a high CPU utilization on the new hardware/OS? I have installed the latest Xsun patch (112785-63) to no avail.
