What is the impact on EBS Application when APPS ID with password lockout is required?

What is the impact on EBS Application and all its components when APPS ID with limited attempt password lockout is required?

Our internal audit requires that the APPS ID have a limited attempt password lockout profile to be setup as part of the audit compliance. We know it can be done, but we have heard that it carries a huge impact if the profile is enabled. To what extent would this profile setup cause it is enabled?
