SDO_GEOM.SDO_MBR() question

Hi,

I assume the r-tree index contains already generated MBR's for each feature.

Does SDO_GEOM.SDO_MBR() make use of these already MBR's, or is it calculated on-the-fly when I select them?

(Trying to figure out the fastest way of doing things)
