Hello, first of all pardon for my bad English, but I've some problems after the update from the obsolete release of Java to the present.
The first system is a laptop with updated Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; from the official Oracle Java site I've downloaded Java for the first time downloading jdk-11.0.1_windows-x64_bin.zip before and jdk-11.0.1_windows-x64_bin.exe after.
My first question is: what is the .zip for, since there is the .exe?
After the execution of the .exe file the installation is started and successfully ended, but clicking "Start"/Java Development Kit, I find only the Reference Documentation, the first problem is: Internet cannot find this page: (error 404).
Second problem: there is not the Java Control Panel, and yet the directory: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-11.0.1 exists.
The second system is an Apple Macbook Pro 64-bit with MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 where it was installed Java JDK SE 10.0.2, (the obsolete release).
During the update to the present release, (that is 11.0.1), I've removed the old release and cleared out the cache as requested, then from the official Java site I've downloaded jdk-11.0.1_osx-x64_bin.tar.gz before and jdk-11.0.1_osx-x64_bin.dmg after.
My second question is: what is the .tar.gz for, since there is the .dmg?
However, I've installed the.dmg and the .pkg with successfull end, but the Java Control Panel is vanished from "System Preferences".
What can I do for both the systems?
