Performance data collector tools fail to trace running process

user13806071May 30 2017 — edited Jun 3 2017

Hi,

I have just installed Oracle Developer Studio 12.5 in a global zone LDOM on a T7-4 (SPARC) running Solaris 10 U11.

When I use the performance tools to gather performance data, it fails as below:

# collect -P 13721

Reading vt

dbx: File "vt.o" has no index stabs

dbx: File "util.o" has no index stabs

Reading ld.so.1

Reading libxnet.so.1

Reading libc.so.1

Reading libsocket.so.1

Reading libnsl.so.1

Reading libc_psr.so.1

Attached to process 13721

stopped in _write at 0xff2cef64

0xff2cef64: _write+0x000c:      bcc,pt   %icc,_write+0x20       ! 0xff2cef78

dbx: Creating experiment database test.1.er (Process ID: 24706) ...

dbx: internal warning: proc_heap_init(): primary LO not mapped

dbx: Couldn't allocate memory in child. Call aborted

error at line 20 of file 'dbxcolR_aqqW'

detaching from process 13721

Has anybody seen that? Any attempt to trace a running process fail in the same way.
