Database Software

So let me preface this by proclaiming that I am not a DBA, but I am a software engineer that uses Oracle on a daily basis, i.e., queries, stored procedures, etc., etc...

I'm researching Oracle Text because I'm designing an application that will store transactional data much like that of your bank account where you go to see transactions. We'll have 1 table that will store the transactions of many individuals.

The question is, can we use Oracle Text to allow a specific user to search THEIR specific records stored in the transactional table? Is that possible? If not, any other possible solutions? If yes, could you point me to some documentation? I've slowly been migrating through the documents here, http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/text/index.html
