Oracle Database Discussions

I created one user say abc..then granted connect to abc user. Then as by application requirement i granted this user select on xyz.view_name to abc..
then i connected to abc user , i can desc this view but can't select the rows of this view.. as i get subjected error.. can any body help me to solve out this issue. Is there any other privelege to grant with select privs.
