online help kills WorkShop 5.0 on Solaris 8
807578May 20 2000 — edited May 26 2000Using WorkShop 5.0 (12/5/98 version) on Solaris 8 (sparc), clicking on any of the first four entries in the "Help" menu brings up a "WorkShop Internal Error" box that says "Internal error; Dump core in /tmp?" and then WorkShop exits. The following appears on stdout:
DynaMotif: failed to find symbol libXm.so.3 in
The same thing happens when clicking on "help" from other places, e.g. from the Build menu dialog box.
This happens with LD_LIBRARY_PATH unset or with it set to include /usr/dt/lib, which is where libXm.so.3 lives. (/usr/lib/libXm.so.3 is a symbolic link.) It happens both on the Sun console and remotely. I sent email to Sun about this but haven't gotten any response.
Has anyone figured out how to get the online help to work?
