Local zones display to global?

807559Jun 20 2006 — edited Jun 22 2006
We have an application that we are migrating to Solaris 10 with in which we want to break off certain parts and run them stand-alone in their own zones. However, the operator will be logged into the global zone, and the various pieces will display to the main display residing on the global zone.

Currently, our Java display code displays to "localhost" which will attempt to display to the zone, and not the global zone. Also a "hostname" command run in the local zone will return the hostname of the local zone and not the hostname of the global zone.

Is there any way for the local zone to know the name of the global zone or its display parameters to be able to automatically display to the global zone?
