JDK 8.212 installation - got installed in 2 different directories

user571349May 1 2019

Hello,

I downloaded the latest JDK 8 update 212 installer (Windows 7). I need this for the Oracle Forms and Weblogic Server. I try to install it in a separate folder not in "C:\Progam Files", and to separate it from my corporate JRE installation I chose the C:\JDK8 folder. What happened is that at some point the Java installer went to another stage and asked to chose my folder again, suggesting "C:\Program Files", so I changed it to c:\JDK8, but then it said that the folder is not empty. So I created another folder c:\JDK8.b. Now I have two different folders c:\JDK8 and c:\JDK8.b and also I have more than one component installed.

1) Java 8 Update 212

    ( I already have Java 8 update 171 installed

2)      Java SE Development Kit 8 update 212 (64-bit).

In the Java Control Panel this is what I have:

1.8 1.8.0_212 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se C:\JDK8.b\bin\javaw.exe true x86_64

1.8 1.8.0_171 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_171\bin\javaw.exe true x86_64

1.8 1.8.0_65 http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_65\bin\javaw.exe false x86

Screen-shot attached

So which is actually my JDK8 version to use with the Oracle Weblogic Server? Can someone explain what the installer has done?

Thanks,

Richard
