How to open jnlp files automatically using SSO/Webgate without asking to open or save file.

Aaron L.Apr 18 2025

We're going away from browsers to run Forms and using Webstart. This works great when we have a jnlp link/url on the user's desktop, but that requires users to know their database credentials. For ease and security, we use Webgate SSO authentication that opens the web page for them to log in to and then supplies the jnlp link. The browser always asks the user if they want to save or open the link. Is there a way to get around this?

It also appears it puts the “authentication cookie” info in the jnlp file name. If they close that browser window, they have to log back in to their Forms application(s).

This may not be a “Forms Community” question, but I'd assume this is where the most people are that would know about this.
