How to insert Local language from my Oracle SQL client

Hi,
I want to insert some arabic data to the oracle 8 data base.I added arabic input locals from my windows 2000.But in the SQL , r showing junk character instead of arabic.
In the MS WORD , if i switch to Arabic input local am able to type arabic.
Can any one tell me what to do?
