how to include my own Basic asset inside AviSports sample sites

I installed the Webcenter sites as well as the 2 sample sites bundled along with that, namely AviSports and FirstSiteII.
I managed to write my own simple Basic Asset. But i don't know how to include that in the AviSports home page. Appreciate your help.
