We are using Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) 11.2.25 Classic.
Our application is currently configured with English as the description language. We have a business requirement to maintain additional display names for members (similar to Short Name, Long Name, and Spanish) for use in Financial Reporting (FR), Smart View, and HFM grids.
During metadata extraction, we noticed that the Metadata Extract Utility allows adding additional entries under the Languages section. We added "Short" and updated the metadata as shown below:
English=CAJAGENERAL
Short=Cash
However, during metadata import, HFM returns the following error:
Line: 1821
Error: Invalid language. Description ignored.

We would like clarification on the following:
- Does HFM 11.2.25 Classic support adding new description languages after application creation?
- Is it possible to configure custom description languages such as Short or LongName?
- Are only predefined languages (English, Spanish, French, etc.) supported?
- If multiple alias tables are not supported in HFM, what is the Oracle-recommended approach for maintaining multiple display names (Short Name, Long Name, English, Spanish) for Financial Reporting?
Please advise whether this functionality is supported or if there is any recommended workaround.
