[Help] Lost SSH key – can't access my Oracle Cloud Free Tier instance

Hi everyone,

I’ve lost my SSH private key and can no longer access my Oracle Cloud Free Tier compute instance. I didn’t set up any alternative login methods (no password or additional SSH keys), and now I’m locked out.

I’ve already tried:

  • Generating a new key pair and using the new private key (but even when it tries to connect, it prompts for the opc user password, which I don’t have).
  • Setting up a Bastion session – it never starts successfully.
  • Contacting Oracle support via the OCI console, but since I'm on the Free Tier, I haven’t received a response or access to proper support.

Is there any way to recover access or replace the key without having the original private key? I’m open to using the serial console or any workaround. Any help or guidance would be truly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
