Faceted search with LINGUISTIC and BINARY_AI configuration

Ramona Cecilia BirsanNov 29 2024 — edited Nov 29 2024

Hi,

It looks like the column attribut <Highlight Words> (in the search results classic report) is not working as expected when the APEX application is configured with :

  • Character Value Comparison :BINARY_AI / parameter NLS_SORT
  • Character Value Comparison Behavior : Linguistic / parameter NLS_COMP

Here is a demo on Oracle cloud :

If I enter the word <eleve>, I get 4 correct results / matches : eleve, élève, ÉLÈVE, ELEVE.

However, among these 4 matches, only 2(two) are highlighted : eleve and ELEVE.

Here are my questions :

  1. Since all 4(four) results are correct matches using this configuration, shouldn't all 4(four) be highlighted ?
  2. If you experienced this issue, did you find / apply any workaround ?

I appreciate your help and support.

Thank you.
