Does ODI 12c is compatible with PBCS/OAC just for extract Data/Mdata through EPMAutomate

Does ODI 12c(12.2.1.4) is compatible with PBCS/OAC, We don't wants to integrate ODI directly only extract Metadata/Data into file format on-prem directory and upload into PBCS/OAC through EPMAutomate and then load that files into OAC/PBCS. If yes what all changes we need to do after upgrading from ODI 11g to 12c?

I know that ideal approach would be to using FDMEE, but my client is currently using ODI 11g for extraction, so at present they only want to use ODI.
