Cascading LOVs in IG referencing same Parent Column

Veerendra PatilOct 4 2023 — edited Oct 4 2023

Hi,

I am using APEX-22.1.

I have an IG based on a simple table -

create table VP_TEST_EMPNOS(
id NUMBER GENERATED BY DEFAULT ON NULL AS IDENTITY
CONSTRAINT VP_TEST_EMPNOS_pk PRIMARY KEY,
deptno number,
empno1 NUMBER,
ename1 VARCHAR2(100),
empno2 NUMBER,
ename2 VARCHAR2(100)
)

empno1, empno2 are LOVs based on DEPTNO with Parent Item and Item to submit as DEPTNO.

ename1, ename2 (They are text fields) are populated using DA on change of empno1 and empno2. Also, user can manually enter the value in these fields.

When I select a DEPTNO and select an empno1 from list and ename1 is populated correct.

Save the IG, Reload the page.

(Edit Row 1) - Select empno2 from the list and ename2 is populated correct.

Save and reload - All Fine.

Now for 2 row

Select a DEPTNO from list - Manually enter the ename1 value.

Save and reload.

(Edit Row 2) - When I want to SELECT empno2 for 2nd row from the list, the ename1 will dissappear. because the DA for empno1 is triggered Not sure why this is happening.

(ename1,ename2 are used in report - So user is allowed to enter manually as well)

How to fix this? Any suggestions please?

I have created a sample example on apex.oracle.com

ws - vpwstest

user - testuser

pwd - abcABC@123

app - VP Test App - 92756

page - 12 - Test Cascading LOVs.

Thanks.
