Can't read BLOB saved by OLE

MarcLafAug 20 2024

Hi,

We had an Oracle 6i developed application. This app saves documents using OLE in a table (BLOB field). This 6i DB was converted to 19c. Now, I download the BLOB to a file on my laptop. When I try to OPEN the file using the appropriate software (Word in this case) I get an error and the file will not open.

Another thing… we don't know what the file type is. I have to use a software (TrID File Identifier) to determine the file type.

Is it posible to download and open a BLOB that was saved to the DB (in 6i) using OLE? If so, what would be the steps?

Thanks in advance.

Marc L
