Business Rule Runs Slow on Save

I'm on Planning 4.1. I have 6 business rules that are attached to a webform to run on save. Each rule runs less than 1 second individually when launch independent of the webform. However, when executed as run on save attached to a webform, it seems to take 20 seconds. Any ideas why the big discrepancy? Thanks.
