In attempting to load Solaris 11.4 .81 on a laptop with UEFI enabled to dedicated 2TB hard-drive. There are installation issues.
The installation fails to load any graphics whatsoever. It boots only to the console. Using pkg install to install X11 and or solaris-desktop appears to be successful. Upon reboot, if quick enough, my user name and password can be input however the laptop attempts to load the graphics, the screen goes black with a stationary white square in the top left-hand corner. Whilst the keyboard is functioning nothing is output to the screen and the system totally hangs necessitating a hard switch off.
The laptop is an i7, 16gb ram, intel 4000 graphics and an NVidia 675 graphics card. It can be reset to use the conventional MBR.
