Are there any tips for reducing RAM usage on load generator?

IHodgettsApr 9 2009 — edited Jul 30 2009
I'm currently investigating an issue that requires an extended 'soak' test to be left running. The last few times I have tried leaving such a test overnight, it has aborted by the time I checked back the next day. From monitoring the OFT Server itself it looks like it is RAM usage that is the problem.

The server starts with >3GB free, but after a number of hours this reduces to <1GB after which the WgPro.exe stops running. The session sometimes remains running in OLT but reports zero VUs as running.

I've tried things like only sampling at low rates (e.g. 600s) and reducing the record buffer size for each VU, but this has little or no effect.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to run tests for extended periods and minimise the resource usage?
