Zombie Process in the Database.

User_F2HJQFeb 1 2012 — edited Feb 1 2012
Dear All,

We are using 10g database with a JAVA based application. Our DBA team is complaining that there are lot of Zombie processes getting created in DB, which is consuming large CPU.

The term "Zombie" is new to me. I have searched in Google and in metalink, but not getting clear ideas. Request the Gurus help in identifying the issues. The the questions in my mind are..
1. How dangerous is Zombie process.
2.Is there any way to find out how they are getting created?(Which query?/Which program?/Which process?...)
3.What is the solution to avoid zombies getting created?

Below are the DB details.
