Zipcode miles calculation

Hi
I need to do zipcode calculation, which is user will enter the zip code in the textbox and there will be 3 radio buttons 1st button is for 1mile 2nd is for 3miles and the 3rd is 5miles when the user enter the zip code and select the miles in the radio button and clicks search(I will be having some zip codes with miles in my DB) i need to display a set of results which matches his query. I really have no idea how to proceed this. Need help from you.
