Hello,
I have a V240 with root disks on a ZFS mirror (c1t0d0s0 & c1t1d0s0). The second of these two drives failed, and a subsequent attempt to reboot the system resulted in this error:
Rebooting with command: boot -s

Cannot mount root on /pci@1c,600000/scsi@2/disk@0,0:a fstype zfs

On the theory that there was a bad block on this remaining drive, I booted from DVD and used format to run a surface analysis (refresh - read then write). That process found exactly one bad block which was remapped, but I am still unable to boot.
I also tried to import the filesystem while running on the DVD miniroot, but that failed, too.
If nothing else, I would like to import the filesystem and copy some key files before a reinstall (e.g., /etc/passwd & other config files). If worse comes to worst, I can recover from backups, but that will be a long and tedious process.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bill
