Yast2 not working on SuSE SLES 10 - SP2 (x86) with SSGD 4.41

Hello everybody.

Just installed SSGD 4.41 on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 + SP2 (x86); I'm using a Windows XP SP3 client to access applications created by default during installation.

When I log into SSGD as root and click over "yast2" (hosted on the very same SuSE server) the application seems to start (in the sense that I do see the "control" icons below the application name - ie, the ones used to Pause, Resume and End the application) but yast2 never gets depicted to the screen.

I installed SLES10-SP2 with Gnome as the only Window manager so it seems yast2 eventually triggers the /opt/gnome/bin/y2controlcenter-gnome which never gets to the screen.

Other X applications such as xterm and xclock do work fine so it's not a problem related to SSH/X11forwarding.

Has anyone else ever noticed this issue.
