Xsun and Xorg

807557Jun 19 2005 — edited Jan 30 2006
Hi ,

I am using Intel P4 processor on an intel Chipset , the installation goes fine , but I am only able to login to the console , the video card has been identified correctly and on kdmconfig , I am able to test my display correctly also . but on reboot I am unable to get a login screen .

In summary :
a) Using Solaris 10 b_69
b) Some errors related to gnome on installation
c) Devices identified automatically like video , mouse , keyboard
d) can test my settings on kdmconfig successfully
e) Manually if I start /usr/X11/bin/X & , it shows a Solaris Wallpapered screen and I am able to move the mouse but then it dies

/var/dt/Xerrors shows some error message related to failure to load the module for "glx" , "keyboard" and one more module

Error

X-server cannot be started on display :0

Help required :

1) Has anybody seen such a problem ? How was it solved ?
2) How do you switch from Xorg to Xsun and vice versa ? ( Important )
3) Do I have to change anything on the BIOS for this to work?
4) I have 256 MB RAM , is that enough to support video

Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated .

Regards
PK
