xml parsing error

514154Aug 11 2006 — edited Aug 19 2006
hi,
i am reading an xml and rewriting it in another file.

but when my program tries to read value "HERSEY, GARDNER, SHEPARD & EATON " there it fails.

I have no clue on this, but i get this exception:
java.io.UTFDataFormatException: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.

& and other special characters are handled in proper way,

i m not sure why this is happening, can some1 please guide me through it..

is it a problem if last character is blank space? should not be...because i have many other nodes where value is one blank space i.e. " ".

let me know friends if you have any update....that why only for this value it is failing...
"HERSEY, GARDNER, SHEPARD & EATON " (which has a space at the end.

thank you,

Chintan
