xm console <domainname> does not work

I just create a new VM guest using: xm create vmrac1.cfg

Using config file "./vmrac1.cfg".
Started domain vmrac1 (id=5)

xm list shows me:
[root@oravm01 OVM_EL5U2_X86_PVM_10GB]# xm list
Name ID Mem VCPUs State Time(s)
Domain-0 0 564 8 r----- 265.2
vmrac1 5 1024 2 -b---- 13.9

however when I try to connect to the console using: xm console vmrac1 nothing happens

Any ideas?
