XE 18c Windows - Installing with Domain Group Privileges

Bodo von Neuhaus-OracleMar 19 2019 — edited Mar 22 2019

I am trying to install XE 18c on Windows. I logged in as a domain user and have full network connectivity to the domain server during installation. But in the local Administrators group only my domain user group is listed and not my domain user.

So I can start setup.exe with local administrator rights, but I can't get past the pre-requisites of the Oracle XE Prerequisite Checks: User Administrative Privileges: "User must have administrator privileges".

Do you really need specific local administrator group rights for a domain user instead of a domain user group after installation, to administrated and run a Oracle XE database?

Do you really need a workaround to add the domain user as member into the local Administrators group during installation? Will a Oracle XE database still function, if I remove the domain user from the local Administrators group after installation, so only the fitting domain user group is left?

It would be very helpful. if the Oracle XE installer could resolve domain user groups for the Oracle XE Prerequisite Checks! Or don't check administrator group membership in the Oracle XE Prerequisite Checks, because starting setup.exe still needs administrator group rights and a second specific check on the local administrator group is not necessary.

Please give advice.
