Hi,

I am trying to install Solaris 8 X86 on a dell latitude laptop.

{ Dell Latitude CPi D300XT ~PII 300~64Mb RAM~ }

During the "Bus Enumeration" stage (from Diskette) I get this......

Warning: Resource Conflict - both devices are added.

Port: 800-83F, 840-84F; Memory: FFFE0000-FFFFFFFF, 100A0000-100FFFFF
ACPI device: PNP0C01
bus: 0, device: 0, function: 0
Port: 4D0-4D1, 800-805, 808-80F, 854-855

( I then have to hit <ENTER> 3 times to continue)......

IDENTIFIED DEVICES

ISA: ACPI Audio device
ISA: ACPI ECP 1.X complient parallel port
ISA: ACPI Floppy disk controller

ISA: ACPI RAM
ISA: ACPI System keyboard (US-English)
PCI: Bus Mastering IDE controller
PCI: Sound Blaster

....Loading com.bef.....
....Loading ata.bef.......

I then choose to boot from CD (Solaris 8 X86)

....Loading Drivers......

I then choose to install using the "Solaris Interactive" option.

.... Booting /kernel/unix.....

....configuring /dev and /devices....

THIS IS WHERE THE INSTALL HANGS!!!!

how can I cure this resource conflict? I have read somwhere that setting " setprop acpi-user-options '0x2' "
may help. but where will I set this? I asume that I may have to edit a file on the DCA Diskette, where and how?

Any Ideas on this one B4 I give up and go Linux.....
