x11vnc password issue (and also uninstall..)

807557May 29 2009 — edited Aug 5 2009
Hi,

I am new to Solaris 10 and I already love it. Great OS.
I have a problem enabling x11vnc password authentication.
I want to be able to logon via tightVNC using Solaris login password
(http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/faq.html#faq-unix-passwords)
But for whatever reason, password itself cab't be enabled with my x11vnc.

If I type

# x11vnc -storepasswd

Then I get a message " -storepasswd failed"

So I am now trying to reinstall the application, but can't figure out the command.

It's not # pkgrm x11vnc. I tried and it didn't work
I also tried over-install the application, that was successfully done but the problem was still there.

Does anyone know why I get "storepasswd failed" message? How can I fix it?

If I can fix it without uninstalling the application, that would be great.
If I have to uninstall, please someone tell me what is the exact command to unintall x11vnc.

Yes, I am a newbie :)

Regards,

tanuki
