Windows Server 2003: Setting up external authenticated users

459528Nov 24 2005 — edited Nov 24 2005
I have a new database on a Windows 2003 server, and am trying to set it up with external authentication so that users on our domain can log into the database with their domain accounts. However, the logins don't work: I have set up users with usernames of OPS$domain_id, set them to external authentication, but they keep getting 'invalid username/password; logon denied'. I need to solve this problem by tomorrow (Friday) so are there any step-by-step instructions on setting up the database for external authentication? I've found bits and pieces but nothing idiotproof. All help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Sharon
