Will "shutdown immediate" flush redologs to archivelogs before shutting db?

Hi Guys,

I have a doubt which I want to clear and hopefully Oracle Gurus here can help me out with this as I dont have the "right away" freedom to test the scenerio.

When I issue shutdown immediate command, does it do a log switch before shutting down the database? Or do we have to manually do it before shutdown? I want to ensure that I am not loosing last transactions in case of restoring database on a different server.
