Wifi with OEL

797834Sep 14 2010 — edited Sep 15 2010
Hi all,
I have read a lot of threats related with wifi in OEL, and I did all that I can do but I cannot startup mi wireless connection on mi laptop.
When I try to start de wlan0 adapter with system-config-network, it returns this error:

Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or directory
Failed to activate wlan0

If I use this command "dmesg | grep wifi", it returns that:

iwlagn: iwlwifi-4965-2.ucode firmware file req failed: -2

(the system-config-network says that the wlan0 it's ok ¿?)

When I try "iwconfig wlan0":

wlan0 IEEE 802.11abgn ESSID:"pinyol"
Mode: ad-Hoc Frequency: 2.412 GHz Cell: Not-Associated
Tx-Power=0 dBm
RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryptation key: off
Power Management: off

Now I'm trying to use NetorkManager but still the same, don't connect, and don't find any wireless network (don't start the find).

I don't know what can I do, but please help me.

For more information:

I find the hardware using lspci (it appears), the line returned is 10:00.0 Network Controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61).
My laptop is a HP550.

Thanks for all!!
