Why Views should be without Order By clause

Hi,

I have read on couple of blogs and sites, that try avoiding ORDER BY in a view's definition.

Left apart fact that it was not supported in pre-8i versions, it is many a times said that Views with ORDER BY clause are poor on performance.

Any idea about this?
