Why too many sessions exist for each osuser?

Hi All,

In my company hundreds of users use a same program. The thing that why some OSUSERs have multiple sessions?

select osuser, status, wait_class, count(*) from v$session where program = 'proc.exe' group by osuser, status, wait_class order by 1;

michael    INACTIVE    Idle    5

michael    ACTIVE    Idle    1

jason    INACTIVE    Idle    3

mike    INACTIVE    Idle    9

staff    INACTIVE    Idle    3

jess    INACTIVE    Idle    3

naton    INACTIVE    Idle    12

dev    INACTIVE    Idle    2

natalie    INACTIVE    Idle    7
