Why is LNNVL called LNNVL (Sort of on-topic)

Peter GjelstrupSep 19 2012 — edited Sep 20 2012
Hello members,

I think I finally got used to the "reversed logic" of LNNVL function.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18283_01/server.112/e17118/functions091.htm

This function I use more and more, but each time I wonder about the name. Why LNNVL?

I am certain, that once I understand the name, my last confusion on how to use will be finally over.

Any ideas on the meaning?

My best idea so far is something like Logic Negated Null VaLue.
(Don't think it has anything to do with Natural logarithm)

Sorry about this silly question, hope somebody chips in :)

Best regards
Peter
