Hi, I recently noted that this OracleRemExecService service was installed and running on a server where we're running Oracle 11g on Windows.
I can't find any satisfactory explanation of what it does or, more importantly in my case, why it does it, in any documentation. Admittedly I'm somewhat new to the Oracle web support world, so if I'm missing a treasure trove of information somewhere I'd be delighted to be pointed towards it.
The most information I've found suggest that OracleRemExecService gets created by the OUI (Oracle Universal Installer) in cases where it needs to workaround some issues during installations. And that after the next server reboot it will disappear, so it should just be ignored until then, because it's created to run once, but it's disabled thereafter.
However, we've had Oracle 11g installed on the server for quite some time and never had any particular issues with it, and certainly haven't been doing any installs or patches any time recently.
Why would this appear, apparently out of the blue, and for what reason would the OUI be running without our knowledge on the server? Thanks.
