why does insert generate undo?

OracleGuy777Dec 2 2008 — edited Dec 3 2008
I am not really sure why this is the case!

If I insert a row into table T, and then I roll it back, all I have to do is mark the space that this row occupied in the data block as 'empty', like it was before. Why would I need an undo for this?
