Which JDBC Driver should I use for oracle DB 8.1.6.0.0

I'm monitoring an Oracle DB version 8.1.6.0.0, but I'm having problems to get the counters ( Performance metrics ) for this DB,

I'm already monitoring an 11g Oracle DB using the default driver ''com.mercury.jdbc.oracle.OracleDriver'' with success,

So should this driver work also with version 8? or it may be a matter of permissions?

Is there any recommended driver for this version ?

Note: I am using Java Version "1.8.0_45"

Hope someone help me on this case,
