Which dba view has infomation about archievd log mod eof the database

user632098Sep 3 2011 — edited Sep 3 2011
I am on oracle 10.2.0.4 on HP UNIX.
1. I know one can use archive log list to find whether darabase is in archived log mode or not, but I do not have dba privileges.
I do have select_catalog_role privileges, so I can look in various data base views such as dba_data_files... What view can provide me information about archive log mode.

2. While I havae select_catalog_role privileges, why I cannot look in any V$ tables/views.

Thanks a lot.
