Where is javac.exe

I've been developing with java for years (about 7-8) and work on a Mac. My company asked me to use a PC to write a demo and spent about 3 hours today trying to install the java 6 JDK. When I search, I get directed to this page:

http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

and select the second option, entitled "Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 6 Update 10" which says it includes the JDK. When I install it, to the path c:\jdk the bin directory does not contain javac.exe. everything else is installed.

Anyone have any ideas? It's been a while since I worked on a PC.
