Where does tomcat store the classes and .java files generated from JSP?

Where does tomcat store the classes and .java files generated from JSP?

I edited some of the .jsp file, stop and restart the tomcat, but it still loads the old jsp.

I am using linux + tomcat3.2 + mysql
