When using the WebADI function in PDH, what do the various upload parameters mean?

When we are using the WebADI process to upload new items into PDH, in the Upload Parameters window, for the parameter "Select whether to create a new item request", we have these options:

None
One per Item
One per Item Catalog Category

Can someone please explain what the difference is for each of these options.
