When deploy oracle9i form app to web, how are difference between DS&AS

Hi,
I know a part of 9i AS is intergrated in 9iDS to deploy App on web. When I try my application using 9i DS. I don't get any problem but do you consider I had better deploy my app on 9iAS ? Anybody can explain for me about this problem.
I hope 9iAS can help me improve performance. But I am not sure
