what was the initial JVM used by sun microsystem before java 1.2?

Initially available as an add-on for Java 1.2, HotSpot became the default Sun JVM in Java 1.3.

this is wat i found in wikipedia when i searched about hotsopt?

can anyone through light on this?

what are all the virtual machines available for java?
