What uncompresses a compressed index

oraLaroDec 18 2019 — edited Dec 19 2019

12.1.0.2

Basic compression.   Looking for small bit of knowledge here.

We know we have to use Direct path inserts to use basic compression on a table and a working condition of that is that any update on that table uncompresses the rows that are compressed.

For a compressed index is there anything that will uncompress the index in total or in part?  I cant find anything online.   not counting a rebuild here.
