What to do with a corrupted SYSAUX?

719295Dec 3 2009 — edited Dec 3 2009
Hi,

My SYSAUX is corrupted and on trying to recover it says that it is in use or in recovery (which it is not). It is also shown as being offline.

With its current state I dunno any other option except to drop it. I have backed up all my data as XML files.

However when I use the command 'drop tablespace SYSAUX' I get the error 'ORA-15301 cannot drop SYSAUX tablespace'.

I do understand that SYSAUX is a very important tablespace and that one may not be allowed to drop it. However, it is corrupted and I am not able to recover it.

What would you suggest I do now?

Thanks in Advance

Sid

P.S. I was logged in as SYS as SYSDBA while trying to execute these commands
